Raniceps raninus, thetadpole fish, is aspecies ofGadidae fish native to the northeastAtlantic Ocean around the coasts ofFrance,Ireland, and theUnited Kingdom and theNorth Sea. This species grows to atotal length of 27.5 cm (10.8 in). It is of no importance to thecommercial fishery industry, though it can be found in theaquarium trade and is displayed in public aquaria.
