Ramil Teymurovich Sheydayev (Azerbaijani:Ramil Teymur oğlu Şeydayev;Russian:Рамиль Теймурович Шейдаев; born 15 March 1996) is an Azerbaijani[2] professionalfootballer who plays asforward forQarabağ FK in theAzerbaijan Premier League and theAzerbaijan national team.
He was born inSaint Petersburg to anAzerbaijani father and a Russian mother.[3]
Sheydayev made his professional debut in theRussian Professional Football League forZenit-2 Saint Petersburg on 19 April 2014 in a game againstZnamya Truda.[4]
He made hisRussian Premier League debut forZenit Saint Petersburg on 26 October 2014 in a game againstFC Mordovia Saransk.[5]
He left Zenit on 5 July 2016.[6]
On 12 July 2016, Sheydayev signed a four-year contract withTrabzonspor.[7] Sheydayev made hisSüper Lig debut forTrabzonspor in a 1–0 away victory againstKayserispor on 5 December 2016.[8] He scored his first goal forTrabzonspor in theTurkish Cup match againstArdahanspor in a 6–0 home victory on 21 September 2016.[9]
He leftTrabzonspor on 9 August 2018.[10]
On 11 February 2017, it was announced that Sheydayev had joined Slovak clubŽilina on loan for 1.5 years.[11][12] On 26 February 2017, Sheydayev made his Žilina debut in a 4–1 home victory againstZlaté Moravce, in which he played the full 90 minutes.[13] He scored his first goal for Žilina in theSlovak Super Liga match againstTatran Prešov in a 3–0 home victory on 2 April 2017.[14] Ramil also played forŽilina B a total of five games and scored five goals in theSlovakia 2. Liga.
Sheydayev made his European debut in 2017 against DanishCopenhagen in the second qualification round of theUEFA Champions League inŠtadión pod Dubňom.[15]
On 31 August 2017,Qarabağ announced the signing of Sheydayev on a season-long loan deal.[16] Sheydayev made hisAzerbaijan Premier League debut for Qarabağ in a 2–0 home victory againstKapaz on 17 September 2017.[17] He scored his first goal for Qarabağ in the Azerbaijan Premier League match against Kapaz in a 1–0 away victory on 14 April 2018.[18]
Sheydayev made his debut for theUEFA Champions League group stage game in a 1–1 away draw againstAtlético Madrid inWanda Metropolitano on 31 October 2017.[19]
On 17 August 2018, Sheydayev signed one-year contract withKrylia Sovetov Samara.[20] He made hisRussian Premier League debut with Krylia Sovetov Samara on 19 August 2018 as a substitute forVladimir Poluyakhtov in a game againstLokomotiv Moscow.[21] He opened the 2019 calendar year part of the season by scoring in three games in a row, as Krylia acquired seven points, including a goal on his 23rd birthday againstAnzhi Makhachkala.
On 2 July 2019, he signed a one-year contract withDynamo Moscow.[22] Dynamo terminated his contract on 9 January 2020.[23]
On 17 February 2020, Sheydayev signed forSabah on a contract until the end of the2019–20 season.[24] On 1 August 2020, he extended his contract with Sabah, until June 2021.[25] Sheydayev left Sabah in June 2021 when his contract expired.[26]
On 1 July 2021,Qarabağ announced the signing of Sheydayev on a two-year contract.[27] On 31 May 2023, Qarabağ announced that Sheydayev had left the club following the expiration of his contract.[28]
On 16 July 2024,Neftçi announced the signing of Sheydayev fromKocaelispor to a three-year contract.[29] On 10 September 2025, Neftçi announced that their contract with Sheydayev had been terminated by mutual agreement having scored four goals in thirty-one games.[30]
On 18 September 2025, Qarabağ announced the signing of Sheydayev.[31]
Sheydayev won the2013 UEFA European Under-17 Championship with Russia, scoring two goals in the semifinal penalty shootout against Sweden and one more in the final penalty shootout against Italy. He also participated in the2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Later he representedRussia national under-19 football team at the2015 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, where Russia came in second place, and he was selected for the team of the tournament.
Sheydayev was called up and played for theAzerbaijan national team in a2018 FIFA World Cup qualification 1–0 win overSan Marino.[32]
On 8 October 2017, he scored his first senior international goal for the Azerbaijan national team, in a2018 FIFA World Cup qualification againstGermany inKaiserslautern.[33]
He is currently ranked as the second highest all-time goalscorer in the history of the national team with 9 goals (tied withEmin Makhmudov andVagif Javadov).
