Ramón Quiroga Arancibia (born 23 July 1950) is a formerfootball player and coach who played as agoalkeeper. Born in Argentina, he obtained 40 caps playing for thePeru national football team.[1]
He is currently a youth coach for the Peruvian clubCienciano.
He began his career playing for the Argentine clubRosario Central.
Quiroga is perhaps best remembered for his appearance at the1978 FIFA World Cup in a match againstPoland, when he ran all the way to the opposition half and fouledGrzegorz Lato, receiving ayellow card in the process.[2] In that tournament, he also conceded 6 goals in the match againstArgentina, the country of his birth.[3]
