Radyo Katipunan (87.9FM) is alow-powerFMcampusradio station owned and operated by theJesuit Communications Foundation in coordination with theAteneo de Manila University. Its studios are at Sonolux Building along Seminary Drive, and transmitter located within the university, both in its Loyola campus alongKatipunan Ave., BarangayLoyola Heights,Quezon City. Radyo Katipunan serves as a community station for the Ateneo de Manila campus and surrounding area.[2][3][4]
In October 2016, Ateneo de Manila University was granted a temporary broadcast permit by theNational Telecommunications Commission, with its broadcast equipment donated by Ateneo alumnus andKBP Corporate Secretary José Yabut.[1]
In the third quarter of 2017, the station began test broadcasts under the nameAteneo Campus Radio.[5] It had itssoft launch asRadyo Katipunan on February 14, 2018, which was bothAsh Wednesday andValentine's Day. This time, it was jointly run by ADMU and JesCom.[1]
On August 28, 2018, Radyo Katipunan was officially launched, with the addition ofsimulcasting Church-runVeritas 846 in the morning. In addition, the station provided news updates fromRappler andVoice of America.[6]
At the start of theCOVID-19 pandemic and resultingnationwide lockdowns in March 2020, Radyo Katipunan began daily broadcasts of morningMass as "Keeping the Faith" (KTF). It was rebranded as "Keep the Faith: Daily Mass for Hope and Healing", before changing to its subtitle "Daily Mass with the Jesuits". Apart from theEaster Triduum, KTF airs every day of the year even when Radyo Katipunan is off air. Even after lockdowns were lifted and there was a return to on-campus activity, KTF still has a devoted online following.
KTF began broadcasting from the studio as all other programs were done online. The Mass then moved to JesCom's Studio A (the group recording studio), before finally moving to its Chapel Studio in 2023.
