Rabu′ (Arabic:ربعو, also spelledRabho) is aSyrian village located in theMasyaf Subdistrict inMasyaf District, located west ofHama. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Rabu′ had a population of 2,288 in the 2004 census.[1]
Rabu' is the site of the ancientAssyrian fortress town of Aribna, part ofLubama. It was where the Assyrian emperorAshurnasirpal I lodged when theLukuti area was ravaged.[2]
The tomb of a holy man who was widely venerated in the Masyaf area is located in Rabu'. According to local folklore, "only a man with a clear conscience" could pass through its entrance.[2]
