Ribosomal protein S6 kinase alpha-4 is anenzyme that in humans is encoded by theRPS6KA4gene.[5][6][7]

Function

[edit]

This gene encodes a member of the RSK (ribosomal S6 kinase) family ofserine/threonine kinases. This kinase contains 2 non-identical kinase catalytic domains andphosphorylates various substrates, includingCREB1 andc-Fos. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene have been observed but have not been thoroughly characterized.[7]

Interactions

[edit]

RPS6KA4 has been shown tointeract withMAPK14.[5]
