QuickTime Streaming Server (QTSS) is aserver or servicedaemon that was built intoApple'sMac OS X Server until OS X Server 10.6.8. It deliversvideo andaudio on request to users over acomputer network, including theInternet. Its primary GUI configuration tool isQTSS Publisher and its web-based administration port is 1220.[further explanation needed] It also uses port UDP/7100.[1] When used in conjunction withQuickTime Broadcaster, it is possible to deliver live real-time video and audio to multiple users over networks.
The protocol used has since been superseded withHTTP Live Streaming used iniOS andMac OS.
