Qaraghaj is a historic and ancient district in the eastern part ofTabriz. Qaraghaj means "Elm tree" in theAzerbaijani language. Qaraghaj district is bordered byViji Bashi andHokmavar districts in north,Kuchabagh district in south,Gajil district in east andAkhini district in west.
