Putao District (Burmese:ပူတာအိုခရိုင်) is the northernmostdistrict of Myanmar and part of theKachin State in northernBurma borderingChina. The capital lies atPutao.

The district is divided into five administrativetownships:

• Putao Township
• Sumprabum Township
• Machanbaw Township
• Kawnglanghpu Township
• Nogmung Township
