ThePuelioideae is asubfamily of the true grassfamilyPoaceae with two genera,Guaduella andPuelia, each in its owntribe.[1] Its members grow in the understory ofrainforests.
This subfamily is one of the earliest-diverging grass lineages,sister to the bigBOP andPACMAD clades:[2]
