History

Psyop was founded in 2000 by Marco Spier, Marie Hyon, Todd Mueller, Kylie Matulick and Eben Mears in New York City.[1] In 2013, Psyop opened Psyop Games, a video game publishing division run by Muse Games co-founder Brian Kehrer.[2] In 2022, Psyop launched inGermany with offices inHamburg andStuttgart.

Original Productions

In 2015, Psyop released an animated series, "Grandma's Cats Are Trying To Kill Her," in collaboration withDreamWorks Animation.[3]

In 2016, Psyop launched a VR experience, "Kismet," a virtual fortune-telling machine forHTC Vive,Oculus Rift, andPlayStation VR headsets.[4]

In 2019, Psyop released a dating simulator,I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator, in collaboration withKFC.[5][6]

In 2020, Psyop, working withSupercell company, produced a short filmLost & Crowned, was uploaded on September 12, 2020, and qualified forOscars recognition in December.[7] They also collaborated onAbsolut'sIt's In Our Spirit campaign, which was recognized for its motion design.[8][9]

In 2022, during aDead by Daylight developer livestream on May 17, it was announced that the game's developer,Behaviour Interactive, would be collaborating with Psyop to produce a dating sim spinoff titledHooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim.[10]
