Pruitt Taylor Vince (born July 5, 1960) is an American actor. Often classified as a character actor, he made his film debut with a supporting role inAngel Heart (1987).
After supporting roles in the filmsMississippi Burning (1988),Jacob's Ladder (1990), andNatural Born Killers (1994), alongside his portrayal ofLee Bowers in the political thriller filmJFK (1991), Vince gained attention with his starring roles in the filmsHeavy (1995) andBeautiful Girls (1996). He had his breakout with a recurring role as Clifford Banks on season 2 of theABC legal drama television seriesMurder One (1997), which earned him thePrimetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Following hisMurder One role, Vince had starring roles in the filmsThe Legend of 1900 (1998) andMumford (1999).
In the 2000s, Vince had starring roles in the filmsNurse Betty (2000),Simone (2002),Trapped (2002),Identity (2003),Constantine (2005), andCaptivity (2007). He had a recurring role as Mose Manuel on theHBO Western seriesDeadwood (2005–2006).

Vince was born inBaton Rouge,Louisiana, on July 5, 1960. He attendedLouisiana State University.[1]
For most of his life, Vince has had a condition callednystagmus, the involuntary movement of the eye.[2]
Vince made his film debut inJim Jarmusch'sDown by Law, but his scenes were edited out. He had prominent supporting roles in several major films, including a turn as a dimwittedKu Klux Klan member inMississippi Burning (1988),Lee Bowers inJFK (1991), and the main character's best friend inNobody's Fool (1994). His first lead role was inJames Mangold's independent filmHeavy (1995), playing a sweet, silent overweight cook harboring a crush on a waitress played byLiv Tyler. He starred inGiuseppe Tornatore's filmThe Legend of 1900 (1998).
Vince often alternates between heroic and villainous characters. Vince played a Southern policeman in theneo-noirpsychological horror filmAngel Heart (1987), a kidnapper's assistant in thecrimethriller filmTrapped (2002), and a deputy prison warden inOliver Stone'sNatural Born Killers (1994). He played a lovable, small town pub owner inBeautiful Girls (1996); a mentally illserial killer in the 2003mystery thriller filmIdentity (a second collaboration with director Mangold); a pompous sheriff inNurse Betty (2000); a gossip columnist inSimone (2002); and a dissoluteRoman Catholic priest withpsychic abilities in the 2005supernatural horror filmConstantine.[3] He can also be seen in the dramatic filmLove from Ground Zero (1998) playing as Walter.
