Proximity bias

Proximity bias refers to thecognitive bias that people have a preference for things that are close in time and space.[1]

The commonproverb,out of sight, out of mind, is a reflection of proximity bias.[2]

Origin

Proximity bias originates as anevolutionarysocial psychology trait when people lived in physically close-knit communities for survival.[3]

Workplace

Within theworkplace, proximity bias may be exhibited towards onsite workers and againstremote workers.[4][2]

Finance
