Providence is a community in theDemerara-Mahaica Region ofGuyana, on the east bank of theDemerara River, located at6°46′0″N58°10′0″W / 6.76667°N 58.16667°W /6.76667; -58.16667, altitude 1 metre (3 feet). Providence is approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south of the capital,Georgetown.
Providence is the home of the international cricket venueProvidence Stadium.[2] It also held few matches of2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
