Built at a cost of approximatelyR360-380 million, the mall is located at the intersection ofR558 and Protea Boulevard in the centre of Protea Glen,[2] and has over 90 tenants.[3][4][5][6]
Mike Nkuna, chairman of developer Masingita Group, first conceived of placing a mall in Protea Glen in 2005,[7] as residents had been traveling toLenasia for their shopping.[8] It is the first mall located in theJohannesburg suburb, which has only been developed since the 1990s. It has been the sixth mall to open in Soweto.[9] Locally, it is considered notable for having both rival supermarket retailersPick n Pay andShoprite among its tenants.[10]
