Princeton Meadows is anunincorporated community andcensus-designated place (CDP)[8] inPlainsboro Township,Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States.[9][10] As of the2020 census, the population was 14,776.[3]
The community is in southwestern Middlesex County, in the eastern part of Plainsboro Township. It is bordered to the west byPlainsboro Center. The borough ofPrinceton is 6 miles (10 km) to the west,Cranbury is 4 miles (6 km) to the southeast, andNew Brunswick, the Middlesexcounty seat, is 15 miles (24 km) to the northeast.
According to theU.S. Census Bureau, the Princeton Meadows CDP has an area of 2.59 square miles (6.71 km2), including 2.55 square miles (6.60 km2) of land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) of water (1.62%).[1] Shallow Brook runs along the northern edge of the community, while Cedar Brook andCranbury Brook form the southern edge. The entire community is within the drainage area of theMillstone River, part of the largerRaritan River watershed.

The2010 United States census counted 13,834 people, 5,976 households, and 3,448 families in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 6,659.2 people per square mile (2,571.1 people/km2). There were 6,290 housing units at an average density of 3,027.8 units per square mile (1,169.0 units/km2). The racial makeup was 38.31% (5,300)White, 10.31% (1,426)Black or African American, 0.35% (48)Native American, 45.85% (6,343)Asian, 0.02% (3)Pacific Islander, 2.24% (310) fromother races, and 2.92% (404) from two or more races.Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.66% (1,059) of the population.[12]
Of the 5,976 households, 34.4% had children under the age of 18; 47.1% were married couples living together; 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present and 42.3% were non-families. Of all households, 34.6% were made up of individuals and 2.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 3.09.[12]
23.8% of the population were under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 41.1% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 4.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33.2 years. For every 100 females, the population had 99.8 males. For every 100 females ages 18 and older there were 98.6 males.[12]
The median value of owner-occupied housing units was $350,100, and 72.8% of housing units were in multi-unit structures. The homeownership rate was 38.6%[13]
As of the2000 United States census[5] there were 13,436 people, 6,017 households, and 3,255 families living in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 2,390.6 people/km2 (6,192 people/sq mi). There were 6,205 housing units at an average density of 1,104.0 units/km2 (2,859 units/sq mi). The racial makeup of the CDP was 56.16%White, 9.64%African American, 0.13%Native American, 30.05%Asian, 1.71% fromother races, and 2.31% from two or more races.Hispanic orLatino of any race were 5.27% of the population.[11]
There were 6,017 households, out of which 32.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.7% weremarried couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.9% were non-families. 37.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 1.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 3.06.[11]
In the CDP the population was spread out, with 24.3% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 49.0% from 25 to 44, 17.0% from 45 to 64, and 2.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.1 males.[11]
The median income for a household in the CDP was $66,415, and the median income for a family was $80,134. Males had a median income of $57,000 versus $43,481 for females. Theper capita income for the CDP was $36,654. About 1.4% of families and 3.4% of the population were below thepoverty line, including 2.0% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.[11]
