Prakruti Mishra is an Indian actress known for her work in Odia films and Hindi television. She is best known for her performance in the filmHello Arsi for which she won theNational Film Award (Special Mention) in 2018 .[1] She is also known for her roles in Hindi television shows and is known for her role as Devanyi InJai Kanhaiya Lal KionStar Bharat, as Bitti inBitti Business Wali on& TV and in the reality show ofMTVAce Of Space 2 in which she was 5th runner up.
Mishra is the second child of Odia music director Manmath Mishra and news reader Krushnapriya Mishra. She completed schooling from Venkateswar English Medium School, Bhubaneswar, followed by studying commerce atRama Devi Women's College, Bhubaneswar. Later, she studiedB.A. fromBhavan's College, West Mumbai.
Mishra has learntOdissi dance from GuruGangadhar Pradhan.[2]
Mishra made her acting debut as a child artist at the age of five with the filmSabata Maa andSuna Pankhuri . She rose to popularity after she appeared in ETV Odia'sTulasi playing Smruti. In 2006, she won theOdisha State Film Award for Best Child Actor forSashughara Chalijibi.
She made her debut inOllywood as a lead actress with the filmThukool alongsideBabushan. She then starred in more than 10 Odia feature films.[2] Later she played the lead role in Omm by S3 Movies along with Sambit Acharya, Bindas Romeo, Om Sai Ram, ACP Sagarika, Mitha Mitha, etc.[3] In 2018, she starred in Hello Arsi opposite toPartha Sarathi Ray, and the movie got thenational award.[1]
In 2014, Mishra participated inZee TV'sIndia's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj. She went on to star in various Odia films. In 2018 she also played Madhura InLaal Ishq in an episodic role.
She gained nationwide recognition for her role inBitti Business Walli, a Hindi serial aired on &TV.[4]
In 2019, she participated inMTV India'sAce Of Space 2, emerging as a finalist.
