InFrance, aPrefecture of Police (French:Préfecture de police), headed by thePrefect of Police (Préfet de police), is an agency of theGovernment of France under the administration of theMinistry of the Interior. Part of theNational Police, it provides apolice force for an area limited bydepartment borders. As of 2012, two such prefectures exist:^[1]
