Pouxeux (French pronunciation:[puksø]ⓘ) is acommune in theVosgesdepartment inGrand Est in northeasternFrance.
Inhabitants are calledPexéens.
Pouxeux lies on the left bank of theMoselle, opposite its confluence with the little riverVologne.Remiremont is 13 kilometres (8 mi) upstream to the south-southeast, andÉpinal is 16 kilometres (10 mi) downstream to the northwest.Pouxeux station has rail connections to Épinal, Remiremont and Nancy.
Before theFrench Revolution, Pouxeux fell within theterritory ofArches, under the bailiwick ofRemiremont. Its church, dedicated to Saints Gorgon andNabor, was an annex to the church atÉloyes. Under the administrative arrangements introduced in 1790 the commune was part of the canton of Éloyes. The present administrative structure came into force some ten years later.
