Twentieth Century Studios, Inc., formerlyTwentieth Century Fox (commonly referred to asFox), is an Americanfilm production anddistribution company owned by theWalt Disney Studios, the film studios division of theDisney Entertainment business segment ofthe Walt Disney Company. It was headquartered at the Fox Studio Lot in theCentury City area ofLos Angeles, until its lease withFox Corporation ended and it was relocated to theWalt Disney Studios inBurbank.Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributes and markets the films produced by this studio in theatrical markets.

For 90 years, 20th Century has been one of themajor American film studios. It was founded on May 31, 1935 asTwentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation by the merger ofFox Film Corporation andTwentieth Century Pictures, and one of the original "Big Five" among eight majors of Hollywood'sGolden Age. In 1985, the studio removed the hyphen in the name (becomingTwentieth Century Fox Film Corporation) after being acquired byRupert Murdoch'sNews Corporation, which was renamed21st Century Fox in 2013 after it spun offits publishing assets. Disneypurchased most of 21st Century Fox's assets, which included 20th Century Fox, on March 20, 2019. The studio adopted its current name on January 17, 2020, in order to avoid confusion with Fox Corporation, and subsequently started to use it for the copyright of 20th Century andSearchlight Pictures productions on December 4. 20th Century is currently one of five live-action film studios within the Walt Disney Studios, alongsideWalt Disney Pictures,Marvel Studios,Lucasfilm, and its sister speciality unit,Searchlight Pictures. 20th Century also releases animated films produced by its animation division20th Century Animation.

The most commercially successful film franchises from 20th Century Studios include the first sixStar Wars films,X-Men,Ice Age,Avatar, andPlanet of the Apes. Additionally, the studio's library includes many notable films such asThe Sound of Music andTitanic, both of which won theAcademy Award for Best Picture and became thehighest-grossing films of all time during their initial releases. Filming was split betweenIndia,Taiwan andMontreal in 2011, withRhythm & Hues Studios (R&H) handling the visual effects work. The film had itsworldwide premiere as the opening film of the 50thNew York Film Festival at both theWalter Reade Theater andAlice Tully Hall inNew York City on September 28, 2012.

Life of Pi became a critical and commercial success, earning over US$609 million worldwide. It was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, includingBest Picture – Drama andBest Director, and won forGolden Globe Award for Best Original Score. At the85th Academy Awards it had eleven nominations, includingBest Picture andBest Adapted Screenplay, and won four, includingBest Director for Ang Lee.

Jayne Mansfield (bornVera Jayne Palmer; April 19, 1933 – June 29, 1967) was an American actress, singer, nightclub entertainer, andPlayboy Playmate. Asex symbol of the 1950s and early 1960s while under contract at20th Century Fox, Mansfield was known for her well-publicized personal life and publicity stunts. Her film career was short-lived, but she had several box-office successes and won aTheatre World Award and aGolden Globe Award.

Mansfield enjoyed success in the role of fictional actress Rita Marlowe in theBroadway playWill Success Spoil Rock Hunter? (1955–1956), which she reprised inthe film adaptation of the same name (1957). Her other film roles include the  musicalcomedyThe Girl Can't Help It (1956), thedramaThe Wayward Bus (1957), theneo-noirToo Hot to Handle (1960), and thesex comedyPromises! Promises! (1963); the latter established Mansfield as the first major American actress to perform in a nude scene in apost-silent era film.
