Port Leopold, Somerset Island, Nunavut, Canada.

The localityPort Leopold is an abandonedtrading post in theQikiqtaaluk Region ofNunavut, Canada. It facesPrince Regent Inlet at the northeast tip ofSomerset Island.

Elwin Baymap is to the south, whilePrince Leopold Islandmap is to the north.

History

In 1848, the English explorerJames Clark Ross wintered here during his search for the missingFranklin expedition.[1]

Later, it became the site of aHudson's Bay Companytrading post.[2]
