Former airfield in southern Italy (1938-1960s)
Pomigliano Airfield 40°55′40″N 14°23′20″E / 40.92778°N 14.38889°E /40.92778; 14.38889 was a military airfield and base established in 1938–39 inPomigliano d'Arco , southernItaly near Naples. It was attacked on several occasions by theUnited States Army Air Force . The airfield was later used by the USAAFTwelfth Air Force during theItalian campaign .
