The Polabians were similar to theDrevani, also known as the Draväno-polaben or Drevanen, inLüchow-Dannenberg.
In 1139,Henry the Lion granted "Polabia" to CountHenry of Badewide. The tribe was subsequentlyGermanized and assimilated over the following centuries.[1][2] The last remnants of the Polabians, including thePolabian language, died out in the 18th century.
