Pluchea is a genus offlowering plants in the tribeInuleae within the familyAsteraceae. Members of this genus might be known ascamphorweeds,plucheas, or less uniquelyfleabanes. Some, such asP. carolinensis andP. odorata, are calledsourbushes. There are plants of many forms, from annual and perennial herbs toshrubs andtrees, and there is variation in themorphology of leaves, flowers, and fruits.[3][4][5][6]
The genus was named for the French naturalist AbbéNoël-Antoine Pluche.[4]
