The Plitvica is a river in northernCroatia, a right tributary of theDrava. It is 65 kilometres (40 mi) long and its basin covers an area of 272 square kilometres (105 sq mi).[1]
Plitvica rises in the hilly areas ofMaceljsko gorje, near of the eponymous village ofPlitvica Voćanska, nearDonja Voća. It flows southeast until it turns east nearMaruševec, and continues through the lowland south ofVaraždin and parallel to Drava, throughSveti Đurđ (north ofLudbreg), until it merges into Drava north ofVeliki Bukovec.
