ThePiscataqua River is an 11.9-mile-long (19.2 km)[1]tributary of thePresumpscot River in theU.S. state ofMaine. Via the Presumpscot River, it is part of the watershed ofCasco Bay, an arm of theAtlantic Ocean.
It rises at the outlet of Forest Lake in the southern corner of the town ofGray, flows briefly northeast, then turns southeast and enters the town ofCumberland.
Continuing southwest, it entersFalmouth, turns more south-southeast, and reaches the Presumpscot River just north of theInterstate 495 bridge.
