ThePiper Islands National Park is a national park inFar North Queensland,Australia. It lies 1977 km northwest ofBrisbane. It comprises four small islands lying on the inner northernGreat Barrier Reef off the eastern coast of theCape York Peninsula in Temple Bay, betweenCape Grenville and Fair Cape.[1]
The islands have been identified byBirdLife International as anImportant Bird Area (IBA) because they have supported over 1% of the world populations ofpied imperial pigeons (with up to 4000 nests) andblack noddies (up to 7500 nests).[2]
