Pingshan County, Hebei (simplified Chinese:平山县;traditional Chinese:平山縣;pinyin:Píngshān Xiàn;lit. 'Flat Mountain') is acounty ofHebei Province,NorthChina, borderingShanxi province to the west. It is under the administration of theprefecture-level city ofShijiazhuang, the provincial capital.
The town ofXibaipo, where the Central Committee of theChinese Communist Party and the headquarters of thePeople's Liberation Army during the decisive stages of theChinese Civil War between May 26, 1948 and March 23, 1949 were located, is in this county.
