Pilocarpus is agenus of about 13 species of plants belonging to the familyRutaceae, native to theNeotropics ofSouth America. Various species are importantpharmacologically as a source of theparasympathomimeticalkaloidpilocarpine.[1] Many of the species have the common name jaborandi.
