Pieter Jan Brugge (born 6 November 1955) is aDutchfilm producer.

He was born inDeventer,Netherlands. In 1979, he graduated from theNetherlands Film and Television Academy inAmsterdam, and was subsequently awarded a scholarship by theDutch Ministry of Cultural Affairs to study in the United States at theAFI Conservatory (AFI),^[1] and earned theMaster of Fine Arts in AFI.^[1]

He has worked frequently with the following directors:Edward Zwick,Alan J. Pakula, andMichael Mann.

He directedThe Clearing in 2004, and acted in127 Hours in 2010.
