Initially, "Pie" was not included onHNDRXX, but later Future decided to add it on to an updated version of the album, as the 18th track.[3] Future announced the song at theBET Awards when he was asked about new music.[4][5]
The music video was uploaded to Future'sVevo channel onYouTube on June 25, 2017, along with the song's release. Directed by Nick Walker, the video features Future and Brown "hang[ing] out on a tennis court, chilling by a swimming pool and ordering takeaway at a fancy mansion party."[6][7]
