Philip Williamson (born 1953) is a British historian.

Williamson grew up inLeicestershire, and attendedBosworth School and Community College (formerlyDixie Grammar School) inDesford.^[1] He studied history atPeterhouse, Cambridge, underMaurice Cowling, and is considered one of the members of thePeterhouse school of history. He is now emeritus professor of modern British history at theUniversity of Durham.^[2]
