Philip Baldi (born 1946) is an Americanlinguist andclassical scholar specializing inIndo-European studies. He is ProfessorEmeritus of Linguistics and Classics atPennsylvania State University.
Baldi was born inScranton, Pennsylvania in 1946.[1][2] He received hisB.A. from theUniversity of Scranton in Classics in 1968, hisM.A. andPh.D. in Linguistics from theUniversity of Rochester in 1971 and 1973, respectively.[1] He was appointed Professor of Linguistics and Classics at Pennsylvania State University in 1981. Baldi specializes in Indo-European studies, on which he is the author of numerous books and articles.
