Fictional character biography

[edit]

Phantazia is recruited byToad into his lineup of theBrotherhood of Mutants.[1] She is one of the more powerful members of the group, possessing a mutant ability that allows her to manipulate and disrupt not only the electronic systems and weaponry of her opponents, but their physical senses and superhuman powers as well. Her first mission with the Brotherhood leads her to battleX-Force. She locates the team's hidden bunker, shuts offCable's weaponry, and disruptsCannonball's blast field, allowingSauron to stab Cannonball in the chest.[2]

AfterThornn's defeat, Phantazia flees, leavingMasque to be killed byShatterstar.[3] Other missions set the Brotherhood up againstX-Factor,[4]Darkhawk,[5]Spider-Man,[volume & issue needed] andSleepwalker.[6] Eventually, Phantazia is invited toAvalon, a mutant sanctuary, byExodus. She rejects the offer and stays with the Brotherhood.[7] After battling the X-Men, Phantazia departs Avalon with her teammates.[8]

Phantazia is next seen in the altered reality of the 2005 "House of M" storyline.[9] After the timeline is restored, Phantazia is confirmed as one of the many mutants who lost their powers onM-Day. The reality alteration leaves her in a catatonic state as she is taken intoS.H.I.E.L.D. custody.[10]

Years later, with her sanity and powers both regained, Phantazia is granted sanctuary atMadelyne Pryor's Embassy of Limbo in Manhattan.[11]
