Petr Gabriel (born 17 May 1973) is a Czech former professionalfootballer who played as adefender.[1][2] He played for theCzech Republic national team, participating at theEuro 2000. At club level Gabriel played more than 200 matches in theGambrinus liga.
Gabriel represented theCzech Republic national team at theEuro 2000. In the decisive group stage match againstFrance, an attempted backpass from Gabriel to hisgoalkeeper was picked up byThierry Henry, who scored. The Czech Republic lost 2–1 and ended its participation in the tournament after the group stage despite a 2–0 victory in its last match againstDenmark.
Gabriel was born inPrague. He has two sons,Šimon andAdam, who are professional footballers.[3]
