American poet (born 1942)
Peter Klappert (born 1942 inRockville Centre, New York) is an Americanpoet.
He grew up inWest Hempstead, New York, andRowayton, Connecticut. He graduated fromCornell University and theUniversity of Iowa, with an M.A. and an M.F.A.[1]
His work has appeared inAGNI,[2]Antaeus,[3]Atlantic Monthly,Harper's,[4]Ploughshares,AWP Chronicle,Lambda Book Report,The Gettysburg Review,[5] andThe Southern Review.[6]
He was Briggs-Copeland Lecturer atHarvard University, and Writer-in-Residence atCollege of William and Mary.[citation needed]
He taught atRollins College andNew College of Florida, andGeorge Mason University before retiring in 2006.[7][8]
