Peter Crowley (born 22 May 1990)[1] is anIrish sportsperson. He playsGaelic football with his local clubLaune Rangers. Crowley was a member of theKerry county football team at senior level between 2012 and 2021, and was on the2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning team.[2] He retired from inter-county football in April 2021.[3]
From Killorglin,[4] Crowley attended the Intermediate School Killorglin.[5] He is a pharmacist by trade.[3]
Crowley played club football withLaune Rangers in theMid Kerry Senior Football Championship.[6] While at university, he played withUCC and won aSigerson Cup medal and aCork Senior Football Championship medal in 2011.[7] He also won anMunster Minor Football Championship medal.[1]
Joining the seniorKerry county football team in 2012, Crowley was a member of Kerry's successful2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship team.[2] After coming on as a substitute in Kerry's defeat of Cork in the2014 Munster Senior Football Championship final,[8] he started at the centre half back position in the2014 All-Ireland final.[9] Following Kerry's win over Donegal in the final, Crowley was recognised with anAll-Star award for the2014 football season.[4]
Crowley was a member of the Kerry team that won the2017 National Football League,[10] and he also represented Ireland in the2017 International Rules Series.[3]
While he was a member of the panel that reached the2019 National Football League division 1 final,[7] he did not participate in the 2019 championship season due to injury.[11][12]
Crowley announced his retirement from inter-county football in April 2021, due to "injury problems and work commitments".[3]
