Peter Malcolm Brignall (born 5 July 1953) is theRoman CatholicBishop of Wrexham.[1]
Born inWhetstone, London on 5 July 1953, he wasordained as adeacon byVictor Guazzelli,Auxiliary Bishop ofWestminster in July 1977, and as apriest byLangton Douglas Fox,Bishop of Menevia on 18 February 1978.[1] Nearly nine years later, Brignall wasincardinated as a priest of theDiocese of Wrexham on 12 February 1987.[1]
He wasappointed theBishop of theDiocese of Wrexham by theHoly See on 27 June 2012.[1] Hisconsecration to theEpiscopate took place atSt. Mary's Cathedral, Wrexham on 12 September 2012; the principalconsecrator was theEdwin Regan,Bishopemeritus of Wrexham, with ArchbishopAntonio Mennini,Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain andPatrick O'Donoghue,Bishopemeritus of Lancaster serving as principal co-consecrators.[1]
Brignall has amalgamated parishes but his proposed church closure at Conwy has been overruled.
