Pervasive Coalition of Reformists: The Second Step (Persian:ائتلاف فراگير اصلاحطلبان: گام دوم), namedThe List of Hope (Persian:لیست امید) byMohammad Khatami,[1] was the solecoalition andelectoral list affiliated with theIranian reform movement for the2016 legislative election. The group also endorsed candidates for the2016 Assembly of Experts election. Reformists backed a list of 236 candidates for theParliament and 77 for theAssembly of Experts, even though many of them are not reformists but moderate-leaning figures.[2]
The coalition includesCouncil for Coordinating the Reforms Front member groups,National Trust Party (close toMehdi Karroubi), newly establishedUnion of Islamic Iran People Party,Moderation and Development Party (close toHassan Rouhani) and theprinciplistFollowers of Velayat faction led byAli Larijani.
