Perlis Guar Syed Alwi Football Club, also known asPerlis GSA, is a Malaysianfootball club from Kampung Guar Syed Alwi,Kangar,Perlis. They are playing in the second division of theMalaysian football, theMalaysia A1 Semi-Pro League, after promotion from theMalaysia A2 Amateur League.[1]
Founded in 2016, Guar Syed Alwi made club debut in theMalaysian Football League by joining the fourth-tierPerlis Super League. By becoming champions, they automatically qualified to the2024–25 Malaysia A2 Amateur League.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
On 6 December 2024, Guar Syed Alwi clinched theMalaysia A2 Amateur League title, securing promotion to theMalaysia A1 Semi-Pro League. They triumphed in the final againstKelantan WTS, winning 4–2 in apenalty shoot-out after a 2–2 draw in regular time.[8][9] The rebranding of the club is in line with efforts to bring the Perlis name to higher levels of competition.[10][11]
Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium is amulti-purpose stadium inKangar. The stadium holds a capacity of 20,000 people and was opened in 1995.
