Pentorex, also known asphenpentermine orα,β-dimethylamphetamine and sold under the brand nameModatrop, is astimulant drug of theamphetamine family related tophentermine (α-methylamphetamine) which is used as ananorectic to assist with weight loss.[1][2] It also acts as adiuretic.[3] Pentorex was developed by Nordmark in the 1960s.[4]
It is aderivative of2-phenyl-3-aminobutane (β-methylamphetamine).
