Pear is an endangeredAustroasiatic language ofCambodia. "Pear" (FrenchPéâr) is a pejorative term for the historical slave caste of theKhmer, but nonetheless is the usual term in the literature. Pear is spoken in 3–4 villages ofRovieng District,Preah Vihear Province, Cambodia according toEthnologue.[2]
Sidwell (2009), citing Baradat (ms), considers Pear ofKompong Thom to be the most divergentPearic language.[3]
