Pavel Šulc (born 29 December 2000) is a Czech professionalfootballer who plays as anattacking midfielder forLigue 1 clubLyon and theCzech Republic national team.
Šulc was promoted to the first team ofViktoria Plzeň in January 2020 but only played his first match on 17 January 2021 againstFK Příbram.[2]
Scoring once each season in2020–21 and2021–22,[3] Šulc started the2023–24 season with ahat-trick against České Budějovice.[4][5] He contributed to Viktoria Plzeň's2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League campaign, where they reached the quarter-final of a European competitionfor the first time.[6]
On 29 January 2019, Šulc was loaned toFC Vysočina Jihlava inCzech National Football League, playing he played in 16 league matches and scored 3 goals.
On 3 July 2019, he was loaned toSFC Opava inCzech First League. In six months long loan he played in 15 league matches and in 1Czech Cup match without scoring a goal.
On 26 January 2020, he was loaned toSK Dynamo České Budějovice in Czech First League. In one year long loan he played in 15 league matches and scored 3 goals.
In June 2022, he joined Czech First League sideFK Jablonec on a season-long loan, reuniting with managerDavid Horejš who he had worked with at České Budějovice in his previous loan spell.[7]
On 4 August 2025, Šulc signed a four-year contract withLyon in France.[8][9]
Šulc had played international football at youth levels that ranged fromCzech Republic U18 toU21. He played in 19 matches and scored five times.[citation needed]
On 22 March 2024, Šulc debuted for theCzech senior squad in afriendly match againstNorway.[10]
On 10 September 2024, Šulc scored his first goals for Czechia, scoring twice in a 3–2 victory against Ukraine in theNations League[11]
