Denise Infante (born 25 July 1982)[1] is a former Chileanfield hockey player.[2]
Infante studied and played hockey at theUniversity of Maryland.[3]
After graduating fromSantiago College, Infante travelled to theUnited States and played hockey for theMaryland Terrapins.[3] During her college career, Infante received a number of awards, including theHonda Sports Award for the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons,[4] and theACC Athlete of the Year award in 2006.[citation needed]
Infante first represented thenational team in 1999, making her first major appearance at thePan American Games inWinnipeg.[5]
Throughout her career, Infante medalled at two major tournaments, winning bronze at both the2009 Pan American Cup inHamilton and at the2011 Pan American Games inGuadalajara.[6]
Following a six-year hiatus from the national team, Infante returned to the squad in 2019 in an attempt to help the team qualify for the2020 Summer Olympics inTokyo.[7]
