Paul Russell is anAmerican novelist, poet and short story writer. He is a two-time winner of theFerro-Grumley Award forLGBT fiction, in 2000 forThe Coming Storm and in 2012 forThe Unreal Life of Sergey Nabokov,[1] a fictionalized portrayal ofSergey Nabokov, the gay younger brother of Russian novelistVladimir Nabokov, about whom very little concrete biographical information is known.[2]
Russell grew up inMemphis, Tennessee,[2] where his father Jack was a mathematics professor atSouthwestern at Memphis.[2] He studied atOberlin College andCornell University.[2] He is a professor of English literature atVassar College.[3]
