Paul Kligman (21 January 1923[1] – 29 August 1985)[2][3] was a Canadianactor.
Born inRomania, he emigrated to Canada where he spent his youth inWinnipeg and studied at theUniversity of Manitoba.[3] He moved toToronto in 1950 and established his career there. In addition to appearing inCBC Television's 1952Sunshine Sketches, he was a featured performer withWayne and Shuster since the comedy duo's early television broadcasts.[2][3]
He is most famous for hisvoice acting in variousanimated television series, especially in the 1960sThe Marvel Super Heroes (1966) andSpider-Man (1967), both fromMarvel Comics as the first voices ofJ. Jonah Jameson,General Ross,Red Skull,Krang,Mole Man andPower Man (Erik Josten). He voiced numerous gruff characters, including Donner and Coach Comet, in the 1964 Rankin-Bass adaptation ofRudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Kligman died aged 62 at Toronto'sNorth York General Hospital following heart failure.[2][3]
