Paul Kavanagh is a British visual effects artist who was nominated at the82nd Academy Awards in the category ofBest Visual Effects for his work onStar Trek. His nomination was shared withBurt Dalton,Russell Earl andRoger Guyett.[1]In 2016, he and his colleaguesChris Corbould,Roger Guyett andNeal Scanlan received theBAFTA-Award in the category ofBest Special Visual Effects for their work onStar Wars: The Force Awakens.[2]They were also nominated for an Academy Award, but lost to Ex Machina.

He has worked on 30 films to date since his start in 1996. He graduated fromBournemouth University in 1991 with a Master's degree in Computer Animation and Visualisation.[3]
