Paul Baillargeon (born 1943) is a Canadian composer,[1] known for his music for television shows. He contributed music to 41 episodes ofStar Trek shows, and won the 2002ASCAP Award (Top TV Series) forEnterprise, shared with the series' other regular composers.
Baillargeon was born inMontreal,Quebec.[2]
Baillargeon began creating arrangements for the group Les Baronets in the 1960s. He released three albums, includingViens, Mon Amour in 1970 and 1971'sSoleil with Jean-Pierre Ferland.[2] He arranged orchestrations for and directedCeline Dion's orchestra during her first tour, and composed her song "Une colombe".[3][4]
Baillargeon composed music for television shows in Quebec, and in 1989 he and Ferland created a musical,Gala, about the artistSalvador Dalí and his wife.[5][6][7]
Baillargeon began composing music for the television seriesStar Trek: Deep Space Nine, and laterStar Trek: Enterprise andStar Trek: Voyager.[8][9]
In 2007, Baillargeon was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the FrancophoneSOCAN Awards held in Montreal.[10]
