Donat Patrick Kack-Brice (born April 23, 1983), known professionally asPatrick Brice, is an American film director,[1] actor, screenwriter and cinematographer.[2] He is known for directingCreep (2014),[3]The Overnight (2015),[4][5]Creep 2 (2017),Corporate Animals (2019) andThere's Someone Inside Your House (2021).

Career

Brice was born and raised in Grass Valley, California.[6] He graduated with a BFA from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) School of Film & Video.[6]Creep, his first feature-film as director/writer/actor (co-starringMark Duplass), was produced byBlumhouse Productions: it premiered at SXSW 2014 and was released throughNetflix.[7] His second feature as director/writer,The Overnight (withAdam Scott,Taylor Schilling andJason Schwartzman) premiered at the2015 Sundance Film Festival and was released by The Orchard.[8][9] He wrote and directedCreep 2, starring Duplass and Desiree Akhavan: it was released in 2017 through Netflix.[10] His latest film as director,Corporate Animals, starringEd Helms andDemi Moore, premiered at the2019 Sundance Film Festival.[11]

In March 2019 it was announced that Brice would direct the Netflixslasher filmThere's Someone Inside Your House,[12] an adaptation of the 2017novel of the same name byStephanie Perkins, withHenry Gayden writing the script. It was produced by21 Laps Entertainment andAtomic Monster.[13][14] The film was released on October 6, 2021.[15][16][17]

In July 2020, it was announced that Brice would develop, write and direct a film adaptation forHBO Max based onOwen Laukkanen's suspense thriller novel titledThe Wild.[15][18]
