Patrice Jean Emmanuel Bouchet de Puyraimond is a French astrophysicist best known for his discovery of theRings of Neptune,[1] his infrared observations of supernovaSN 1987A in theLarge Magellanic Cloud,[2] and the dust extinction law in theSmall Magellanic Cloud.[3]
The minor planet (MP 4313) Bouchet was named in honor of him.
